Event Topic:

ESG: Environmental, Social, and Governance

“Companies that adopt ESG principles will define a vision, mission, strategy, tactics and values that consider, measure, and report the environmental, social, and governance aspects of their business.  Investors that use an ESG framework will consider a company’s environmental, social and governance attributes when deciding whether or not to invest in a company.”

At Vertiv, “[We] collaborate with our customers and industry stakeholders to build future-ready digital infrastructures with the goal of increasing their energy efficiency and reliability.”

Vertiv breaks down ESG into three respective categories: Environmental (including Sustainable Solutions, Sustainable Operations, and Life Cycle Assessments), Social (including Safety; Diversity, Equity & Inclusion; and Community), and Governance (including Corporate Governance, Supply Chain, and Data Privacy & Security).

Benefits of ESG can include streamlined regulatory compliance, improved efficiencies, stronger ROI, improved employee engagement, and customer loyalty. Many EHS programs fall under the ESG umbrella, making involvement of the EHS professional a driving force in the effort.
