We have some great meetings coming up this month and next! Be sure to register in the information shared in the upcoming meetings section as well as our website.

Our scholarship golf outing is May 20th, if you have not already done so, please be sure to register and/or sponsor to get a chance to support our emerging professionals in teh EH&S profession.

Please know, that as your local society and partnership we share your concerns and support you during this difficult time and start to what seems to be a continuous year. We are all in this together and are striving as our profession continues to adapt and grow together battling this unpredictable virus. Let us keep our connections and share our experiences as we continue into 2022 with a bright future ahead.

Newsletter Chair Coby Long, CSP

I grew up in North Central Missouri and after graduation joined the US Army.  Once I completed my active duty time I continued in the Army Reserves while attending university at Oklahoma State University (OSU) studying Fire Protection and Safety Engineering.  While at OSU I married my wonderful wife of 23 years, Codi Adair, we have 3 amazing kids, 2 sons Chaz (19) and Gavin (16) and our daughter Aedan (17).  I’ve worked in project management / construction for over 20 years working all over the US and most recently Saudi Arabia for the last 7 years.  My last project was to build a city in the middle of the desert covering roughly 5 square miles.  I joined Turner Construction in August of 2021 as a Site Safety Manager for a massive Data Center campus build that we have ongoing in New Albany for Meta.  I’m always looking for more people to join our safety team (shameless plug). When not working I enjoy playing golf, volunteering as a baseball coach, spending time with my family and trying to improve my BBQ pit master skills.  I love to spend time working my smoker and manning the grill.  We love supporting our favorite sports team and If there is an opportunity to smoke/grill to show my support I’ll be doing it.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES
We are always looking to network and find out if there are job openings. The jobs must be in an Environment, Health and Safety function. For example: Fleet Safety Manager, Director of Environmental, Health and Safety, Risk Manager, Specialist, Analyst, etc.

We will post the jobs to our website at centralohio.assp.org. This is done currently at no charge, but the chapter is always accepting donations to help establish our scholarship fund. Your contribution is appreciated.

Please email job information to the Central Ohio Chapter Secretary
